적외선방식(IR) 멀티터치센서는 적외선(Infrared) 신호로 작동하는 센서로, X, Y 축 각각에 적외선 발신기와 수신기가 서로 신호를 주고 받다가 손이나 혹은 물체가 신호를 방해하면 그 위치를 파악하고, 이를 신호로 변환하는 제품입니다.

 

IR 방식의 제품들은 외관은 거의 동일하나, 신호를 인식하는 방식에서 사용되는 LED 모듈의 종류에 따라 그 성능의 차이가 있습니다. 현재 신뢰할 수 있는 10포인트 이상의 IR 멀티터치 센서는 전세계적으로 몇 업체만 가능한 기술입니다.

(최근에 일부 사이즈에 2~6포인트 제품을 출시한 중국 업체가 있으나, 현재는 신뢰할 수 있는 성능의 제품은 일부 업체만 가능합니다.)

 

프레임형태의 적외선방식(IR) 제품은 터치하고자 하는 디스플레이의 앞 쪽에 부착되며, PDP, LCD, LED 패널은 물론, 프로젝터 등 다양한 영상제품에 접목이 가능합니다.

기존 싱글터치 적외선방식(IR)과는 다르게, 2포인트에서 40포인트까지 인식이 가능하여, 30인치에서 최대 350인치까지 제작이 가능하여 일반 패널 사이즈에서 대형 멀티비젼까지 적용이 폭이 광범위합니다.

 

An infrared touchscreen uses an array of X-Y infrared LED and photodetector pairs around the edges of the screen to detect a disruption in the pattern of LED beams. These LED beams cross each other in vertical and horizontal patterns. This helps the sensors pick up the exact location of the touch. 

 

Infrared manufacturer has their own technology to catch up the multiple signals using different LED module & firmware at similar frameset.But real multi touch sensor manufacturers are only a few companies, from 2 to 40 pts, from 30" to 350" available.
